Bluefin Fitness Blade Rowing Machine

Does The Bluefin Fitness Blade Rowing Machine Offer More Than The App?

Bluefin is a brand that really wants its customers to get the most out of their workout, so their Bluefin Fitness Blade Home Rowing Machine is going to catch the eye.

This indoor rower is similar to some of the other products in their range in that it focuses on app-led workouts and connectivity to help people work out. Is there more to this machine than an app though?

The Pros and Cons of this Bluefin Fitness Blade Home Rowing Machine.

Pros:

  •  The Kinoapp can help to make workouts more interesting
  •  There is enough resistance for newcomers
  •  The incline is a nice touch
  •  The seat and grips seem to be comfortable
  •  There is a non-slip coating on the pedals

Cons:

  • ) Issues downloading the app
  •  Some complaints about the stability
  •  Not enough resistance for some experienced users

The Bluefin Fitness Blade Home Rowing Machine has some interesting features to help users work out for longer.

We have to start by talking about the inclusion of the Kinomap app for connectivity to other rowers. The app is a way for you to work out with other people via live coaching sessions.

There are also maps and other features to make your sessions more interesting. The app is downloaded onto your device and you can place your tablet on the shelf provided.

This is not a mandatory feature in order to workout. You can still row and watch your progress on the console. But, it is a good aid as desired.

One of the interesting things about this rower is that the Kinomap app is just an extra feature. You can get an interesting and beneficial workout without having to set this up at all.

This all starts with the 8 levels of tension. While there are other rowers that offer more, this is a nice range for those that are new to rowing and just want to switch between high and low intensity on their daily session. Experienced users might find the upper limit a little easy.

The other feature here is the 10’’ incline. This is something that you don’t always see because many basic at-home models have more of a flat rail. This could help you improve the resistance further.

From there, you can also take advantage of a number of convenient, user-friendly features for comfort and a more effective row. The seat has a good motion along that rail and seems to have enough padding – at least there aren’t any noticeable complaints about discomfort.

The pedals are the right size and position with a non-slip coating to help with your posture and form. Then there are the comfortable grips on the handle. This should come as standard but users have pointed out how comfortable this one is.

Don’t get this Bluefin Fitness Blade Magnetic Resistance Rower purely for the app.

One of the most disappointing aspects of this indoor rower for some buyers is that they have had trouble setting up the app. That Kinomap app can be one of the big selling points so the rower seems a bit boring if it doesn’t work.

Users have found that the app isn’t compatible until they go to Bluefin and download a different version. This might not be the case with your own experience, but it is worth keeping in mind, just in case.

Then there are those that find that the rower isn’t quite stable enough for their needs. This isn’t a common issue so it doesn’t seem to be down to the construction of the machine.

Better stabilisation feet could perhaps help a little. Or, it might be down to the intensity of the session or the surface underneath. Be sure to put this on a flat floor and watch out when you ramp up the pace.

How do these issues affect the final verdict on this Bluefin Kinomap-ready Rowing Machine?

The good news here is that these issues aren’t something that will affect all users. The problem with the connectivity isn’t a guarantee and is fixable with some patience.

The stability issue might not happen at all. This is good because the magnetic rower is a pretty decent option with the workout offered, the features on that app and the user-friendly elements.

Therefore, it isn’t hard to recommend this Bluefin rowing machine to those that have had success with Bluefin in the past and that want a bit more of a challenge as they row.
