DKN H2Oar Rowing Machine Review

Does The Vertical Approach Of The DKN H2Oar Rowing Machine Work?

DKN H2Oar Rowing MachineThe DKN H2Oar Rowing Machine has an intriguing design with the use of a vertical water tank rather than the more traditional model.

It seems that the designers were keen to experiment and create something better suited to competitive training.

Did this choice pay off?

The Pros and Cons of this DKN H2Oar Rowing Machine.

Pros:

  •  A vertical water tank for impressive unlimited resistance
  •  Lots of information on display via the backlit console
  •  Some interesting choices with the ergonomics

Cons:

  •  Is there enough programming here for the cost of the machine?
  •  A potential flaw with the long-term durability of the machine

The DKN H2Oar Rowing Machine has an interesting design that focuses on competitive rowing and better results.

One of the most interesting things about this indoor rower is that there is a vertical tank with a 5L capacity.

Not only does this create a more streamlined shape, but it also ensures that you can get a tougher response from the movement of the water against the paddles inside.

As a result, you should be able to enjoy a tougher session with the same infinite resistance as other water rowers. In addition to this, you can see the data from the session on a large console that sticks out of the top of the DKN rowing machine.

The backlit console shows multiple data streams at once include stroke rates, time, calories burned, and – if you have the heart rate belt – your pulse.

There is also an interesting focus on the ergonomics of the machine. The seat is different from a lot of rowers as it is raised higher above the rail.

This seems to be to provide a better posture for racing and greater comfort long-term. But, it might take a little getting used to.

You also get the long 145cm steel rail for a full leg extension, oversized footplates, and some foam cushioning on the handlebar.

However, there are some little factors here and there with this DKN Vertical Water Rower that are questionable.

Some users might be disappointed by the onboard programmes available with this indoor water rower. There are some modes mentioned in the specification for training, such as a recovery mode and race mode.

But, the bulk of the functionality comes from the connection to the Kinomap app.

There are also some questions about the durability of this machine if the console sticks out on such a thin pivoting arm. This is great for putting the rower upright for storage, but will it last?

Is this DKN H2Oar Rowing Machine still a recommendable option with all of this in mind?

There are some interesting choices in this indoor rower – some better than others. On the plus side, you will have users that like the look of the competitive programmes and ergonomics and are able to push further with their training.

On the other, there will be those that struggle to get started with the functions and find that this isn’t as familiar or accessible as some other machines.

In the end, it all comes down to previous experience and personal preference. The DKN rowing machine will help a lot of users in the right circumstances.
