DKN Riviera Rowing Machine Review

Can A DKN Riviera Rowing Machine Offer Enjoyable Water-based Training?

DKN Riviera Rowing MachineThe DKN Riviera Rowing Machine looks intriguing for anyone curious about using a water rower.

There seems to be a nice blend between the minimalist look of high-end water machines and the convenient features of a gym-level option.

Does this machine meet user expectations or could it do more to help users with their fitness goals?

The Pros and Cons of this DKN Riviera Indoor Rower.

Pros:

  •  The use of infinite water resistance via the large tank and its paddles
  •  An attractive design with the shape of the frame and subtle use of colour
  •  A sense that this is built to last and will help users for a long time

Cons:

  •  The console doesn’t have the same features as other DKM machines
  •  The heart rate monitor is sold separately, so pulse settings aren’t guaranteed

What stands out most about this DKN Riviera Rowing Machine is the attractive compact design.

This is a nice looking indoor rower with a slim angled frame and tidy approach. The pully and handlebar come out of the frame above a small console. Beneath this sits the translucent red water tank, which goes nicely with the red accents across the machine.

There is also a decent-sized rail, large footplates with straps, and stabilising feet that allow you to stand the machine on end for storage.

The workout focuses on the use of water for infinite resistance. There is a 17L tank with good paddles where you can get a tougher session and find a good rhythm.

There are the usual comments about the relaxing experience and pleasant noise that you would expect with a machine like this.

There is also some confidence about the durability of the tank and the machine in general, with no worries about the maintenance.

There is an issue about this DKN Riviera if you have ever used DKN machines in the past.

The console does offer the opportunity to see lots of information about the workout, such as strokes, time, distance, calories, and pulse. However, the pulse is only via the optional chest strap.

Also, the small size of the display means one data feed at a time, unlike a lot of other DKM machines that bring multiple feeds with colourful displays. This one doesn’t even seem to have a backlight.

Also , there is no mention of user profiles in the specification, which could be a disappointment to those with other machines that can track their progress.

Is this DKN Water Rowing Machine still a recommendable choice with these issues in mind?

A final recommendation here comes down to whether you are more interested in the hardware or the software. If you come into this machine expecting the same sort of high-end console and programming as other DKN machines, you could be disappointed.

Instead, this is all about the motion and the water. But, it is also a well-made water rower with a great look and reliable resistance. Therefore, the DKN rowing machine can still impress a lot of users.
